The Tent City Relief Project provides assistance to those living in Tent City, an encampment in the woods of Lakewood where approximately seventy homeless people reside. Our church is faithfully providing supplies of eggs and water to this community. In addition, donations of clothing, blankets, personal items, tarpaulins, sleeping bags, paper goods, baby wipes (used for simple clean up in the absence of running water), feminine hygiene products, LED lanterns (style where battery clips to bottom to minimize danger of fire), flashlights, batteries, canned goods and bicycles are accepted. Donations may be placed in the designated bin in the narthex. For bicycle donations, please send an e-mail to tentcity@brickpresby.com.
Your donations of the above items are welcomed and regularly delivered by members of the Tent City Relief Committee to the encampment.
We are delighted to report that our church has been named as a recipient of grants from the Monmouth Presbytery's Cents-Ability program and from our denomination's Presbyterian Hunger Program to aid in our efforts. If you are interested in joining the Tent City Relief Committee or have any questions about donations, please send an e-mail to tentcity@brickpresby.com.
